I agree. Hopefully things are improving everyday, or else it works just fine as it is for some. Lots of potential at Club Lime.

Robaht, have no idea on Home Bar. Been over a year since I last went there. I think someone could rework the bar into something that would work in Patong.

done out nicely up to euro bar lounge standard

does food 6-10 (think)

upstairs and open sided so fresh-ish sea air as opposed to aircon

plays decent house

spoke to one of owners / managers (?) who suggested soft opening for now will advertise come high season????

up to them i suppose but seduction a case in point regarding difficulties of anything attempting to approximate high end / discerning

and location? (rock city has a niche)

hope it does well - worth a look

TTB, whether or not it was intended as a comment to me I'll answer you anyway. Firstly totally agree with what you are saying under normal circumstances, we should all make our own opinions of places first, rather than secondhand from forum posts, especially when posted by the likes of ATM!!!!

However, in this instance I think from what I have seen from attempting to get (break) in whilst they were closed and knowing patong. I take into consideration, beers at 200bht, next to no people, no girls, location, too far to casually walk from Bangla or almost anywhere else, only exception being Rock City, open sided so uncomfortably warm and sticky, if you groove (ggod old guy word) on the dance floor as I sometimes do (well been informed I do, cannot say I have ever seen myself do these things so probably another photoshop thingy, becking clever these tinternet boys) and the fact the owners have firstly not been very hospitable so far nor very far thinking as they have opened exactly at the beginning of low season, I cannot see any point as they will not be here this time next year unless they need a company with a loss on its accounts.

Best thing they could do is change its name to Bar Lime or Lime Restaurant and forget the club market, it wil not work there (in my humble opinion)

In short my comments.
Beer at 200 Thb is too expensive. Even in the club scene in Bangkok still 150/180 Thb.
Next to no people. It is still new, let's give them a fair chance!
No Girls. Patong needs more places like that. The 'non-girly' bars/areas are doing better and better in town, proves that it is a non issue.
Location. Many people like to stay away from Bangla and direct area. Patong is small, anything can be a 'hot spot'.
Opon air. Choice of the owners. In a tropical environment as on Phuket many tourists expect to be 'in the open'. Can work in their favour.
Owners being not very hospitable. Absolute NONO, I agree.

Hope they get it to work.
Home, La Baia and Club Lime..... Please get the people in with a good concept. For me, as stated before, the most important ingredients are Drinks (inc prices) and music.
Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!

I took a look in Club Lime (next to Saxaphone/Rock City on Beach Road) on Tuesday night ...

No admission fee - but that didnt seem to matter as even at 1am there were only 5 people in there! The club is set out on fisrt floor level and open to the air. A high end lounge bar with sofas all round and cool lighting.

Probably would do well in Ibiza or even Koh Samui but this place needs some serious marketing to get off the ground. I think it has potential if it could snag the throngs of people leaving Rock City (which I went to before that - my best visit yet - the place was packed, good live cover bands for U2, AC/DC and Metallica and noticed the prices in there have become more reasonable - Jack/Coke now 150 Baht from 195 Bt before).

Back to Club Lime - pricing ok 120 Bt beer/generic spririts and 200 Bt cocktails.

Possibly a good place for a private party if you have 50+ friends but longer term this place needs to find a niche in what is a very crowded club market.

I hope the place becomes succesful. Patong needs some more 'upmarket' entertainment and more diversity in the 'scene'. There are not enough 'clubs' yet. At least not what I call clubs.....

A good cocktail for 200 Thb is not too bad...... But needs to be a proper made one.
Beers at 120 Thb is OK for a more upmarket place with decent music etc. think 140 @ Seductions where you can't even choose the brand you like to drink. (Not even to talk about the lime thinghy in your beer...)

Thanks for the report K2. Got a couple birthday parties coming up and we were looking for a semi-private venue with a cool vibe. Nice to have a new option rather than the usual suspects. Other upside is parking is a lot easier down around there.

Right off the top I'd say then need to drop the prices. Doesn't seem to mater how cool the place is, there is a lot of resistance to high prices. I think that is partly the problem (perceived or real) with Seduction really taking off.

I was reading above and thought beer at 200 baht was really pushing it.. Not being a CC and all but thats 6 - 7 USD a beer.. 120 is perfectly reasonable if decor is nice..

I think a nice place on beach Rd can do well but location is more crucial with the new one way.. People would not loop up round to north Rat U thit anymore (all the food stalls up there are dieing a death post 1 way).. Just look at la baia (sp) to see that if its not in a good spot it just dies..

As someone who hasnt been yet, not having the place 'cool' in ventilation sounds the most worrying.. Fans, misters, AC, or breezy location something has to be sorted.. Nothing nice about 'chilling' if your not feeling cool..

I was there twice last week and was pretty busy both times - after 1 AM and the music and vibe was pretty good. I like Seduction better than any other night club in Phuket now. Banana is second best choice on music score - but the dance floor is too small/crowded.

I was at Seduction back in early March on a Saturday Night after closing Rock City(the AC/DC cover band was tops), it was quite crowded at Seduction around 2:30 AM. The place seemed a bit small. The beer was cold, music loud, and we didnt have far to stumble to get back to the Expat.
Saw some people in ther with a bottle. Do they have bottle service there, or can you bring your own in?

No you cant take your own bottle into Seduction (a la Thai style) but for ~ 2000+ Baht you can buy a bottle + mixers + ice say Smirnoff, JW Red etc and higher price for Jack or Chivas etc which works out cheaper if there is a group of you.

Not been there for 2 years - dont like all that cement and music was very repetative/predictable .... its 1.22am so play xyz track and its more of a place to pick up FL's as is Tai Pan which I also dont really care for much. When I go clubbing I'm not on the prowl so for me music/atmosphere/crowd mix is the more important.

Other clubs been reviewed elsewhere including Tiger - would say Tiger is ok if your looking for a FL after hours and hopefully music has improved.
