Good Indian Food Chalong

Yesterday I was down Rawai and Chalong for the evening.After a bit of bar hopping we needed food.We decided to try the Indian restaurant near Chalong Pier.:jap:

It is called "Mr India" and the food was great and not over priced.The beers were less that 60 baht.The Indian owner was very friendly and attentive.:wai:

If I am back down in the area I will be giving it another visit.:wai:

Was this a hidden secret of all you southern islanders????????:slap:

A question, does the restaurant display prices?

In KL, i don't go to Indian restaurants or known as Mamak cause they simply charge or charge as they like.

A piece of drumstick has variable prices, depending on the size.

I know Indian food is nice, but i stop going cause of that.

Both of the Indian Restaurants in Georgetown Penang also have clearly priced menus.:intello:

The food is Ok there at Mr India, the original chef left and now runs Little India in Laguna which is better food but a little more expensive.

Best Indian I have had in Thailand was Ali Babas in Pattaya (nothing to do with the Ali Baba here in Patong).

Crusty I know you know Alan well but not sure how often if ever you pop over to the Klong? have you ever tried his Indian Food? is this place better in your opion?

Only ask as I going through a bit of an indian overload, can't get enough of it at the moment and would even consider a trip to Chalong, if its better to just keep my addiction going!!

Anyway iam sure the prices are shown in Phuket and Penang (some restaurants)

There was a case that Indian Restaurants charge as they like and was a big case in Malaysia. I have not gone back to a Indian Restaurant since.

I will have to go back and hope to see some changes.

I will second your recommendation as I have been there a few times. I wanted to go last night but it did not work out. Later this week I guess.

I am no expert on Indian food, but I am a picky eater and food either tastes good or bad. This place has good food and I have found that every time I go I enjoy it more than the time before. Not sure how long that will last.

Anyway, good staff and good food. The prices are decent too, kind of funny as well. Also, they advertise a 15% service charge at the bottom of the menu but I have never actually seen it applied to the bill, so do not fear.

My opion is that eat indian food in india, but dont pay any attention to indians in thailand, their unfriendly, pushy, always wanna grab your hand, try to rip you off, and they want everything for a dime. They are trying to rip of the girls in thailand and use them like its a piece of s***. Been to india and its the same their with all these indian people.

And the worst things is, their coming more and more indian people to thailand everyday, this piss me off : i always ignore them on the streets, i rather pay 100BHT more to a thai then to a indian. Spend your money on the thai !

Royal Tandoor in Karon is about the best of the Indian outlets there but it's pretty expensive and the portions are small. This is no recommendation just because I said it's the best in Karon doesn't mean the food is all that good.

Honestly I think you get the best Indian food in Singapore. Tried it in London which has the reputation of the best Indian food in the world however I rank it way below Singapore. Apollo Banana Leaf in Racecourse Road, Little India would be my pick.

London isnt particularly famous for curry, you have to go up North a little, sheffield, leicester etc...
