I have been there about 4 times in the last 6-8 months during my trips to Shanghai and I have always found a selection of good looking girls in the line-up. There have always been at least 4-5 girls in every line-up that I would rate 7+ in my book.
Besides the reliable quality, the other positive thing about Shanghai Hotel is that I have found that every girl I have been with had better English skills than what I have encountered in other spas. Not fluent by any stretch of imagination but understood basic questions/instructions. I know there are cheaper places, but this place has its advaneforum.xxxes for me.

Hi, this post is also pretty general but I am also asking about the shanghai hotel. The prices you list, are these already bargained prices, or are they pretty fixed?

I am looking for places with prices mostly fixed, what would be my best bet?

Check my previous post.. went there close to 11pm and they were closed.

Not sure but I think 11 on weekends and 10 during the week... as long as you are inside before that, no rush to get out

Fell myself into one scam, however felt it in time..

I was walking in Nanjing road in search in fact to eat a little thing.. one first girl approached me... said no as she was not my style.. then another one later came to me and started to talk..quite friendly actually and not the style bad girl, more the style sweet gf.. made about few hundred meters with her and finally asked her what she wanted to do.. may be go for drink or eat something first.. more the gf experience in fact.. after walking about 5 more minutes in Nanjing road she brought me to a massageplanete bar... byut we had to cross first a restaurant where quite lot of people were eating..
was not in mud for a beer, ordered a capuccino and she took a coke with alcool.. barmaid came with some additional plates of peanuts, fruits and the drinks... After abt 15 minutes dicussion, she called a friend on the phone and after 5 minutes this second girl poped-up asking if she can join... said why not..
New comer girl ordered some drink and barmaid came with 5 glasses! alcool plus a coke...
as started to feel the scam coming ( thanks guys for the previous threads !!) I warned them that I had only a few money on me as I never take my wallet and no credit cards...
We ordered the check.. and ooooh surprise it was 2550Rmb ! I almost laugh, thinking about my readings into this web, and I repeated that my only belongings were 300 Rmb.. They were astonished that I could wlk in Shanghai with only 300 Rmb on me as I had my backpack.. but I poped out a few more 10 and 20s saying that this was all and only my taxi fare for returning...
The 'nice girl' that brought to me started to ask that if she was paying, if I could refund her at my hotel.. so I said that I did not agree to pay such amount for just few drinks in this crappy place.. my next move was then to get out my phone, and I said I am so sorry I have no more money, but dont worry, I will call myself the police and explain my case...
This wa sinstant, both girls took out their wallet and got out 1000Rmb each as walking to the cashier and 'pretented ' to pay for the bill..then she said a witer will accompany you at your hotel for refund... I answered to her that she was a cute girl, so I did not want trouble for her, so I will pay some but to her personally if she want to come.. not to any waiter...
Finally, we took the elevator down and arrived in the street, they turned unhappy and left in opposite direction..
morality: really take only what you can afford to loose on you... no more and no credit cards or other valuables...

Here is the address for the Shanghai Hotel:505 N. Wulumuji. It is the street just west of the Equatorial hotel.
The sauna is on the second floor. It is all of the second floor so you can't miss it.
Great place, great girls, great fun. I will return soon.

i have a rule when you go out ... never go out with more money then you can afford to loose or use and always hide a 100 rmb in your shoe or something for taxi to my hotel (underwear is not to prefer because they always get off ) and if you get in some problem ... just say you don't have more money and empty your pockets ... and they will let you go .... no hassle ....

I couldn't get out any more because the door was locked and 3 guys in the way. I have been in a couple of situations but this was serious shit. Too call the police is the worst choice you can make i think because they are running the business.

Stopped in to the sauna at close to 11pm, and they were closed for the night...

as few guys were coming out at that time.. As far as I know business as usual... but did not know they close so early.

You know, I hear many story about being scammed, and I was very careful. but still it happened once to me. I just yelled at the guy and walked out. Nobody followed.

They only prey on weak people. What are they going to do if you walk out--call the police? I don't think so. Have some guts.

in this case, you should ask for reciept first then call police (110) for help. My friend did this before and get refund after police come.

just remind all of you here: if you get into the situation like paid too much like this, you absolutly can get help from police.
