Street action? Where?

I don't know where these cameras are but I never negotiate on the main drag I slow down make eye contact, a slight hand motion and turn down the nearest side street then kill my lights including the interior light for when/if I allow her to open the passenger door (I can't imagine they have cameras on the side streets?). Just be smart about it and all is well. Carryon

Cameras have been already installed in Dubi, Chomutov and Cheb. Czech police is printing pictures of the car when drivers stop and negociate with streetworkers. The pictures are sent to the address of the owner of the car accordings to the licence plate (german police is sharing informations since the begining of the operations). Pictures are also posted on internet and local newspapers in CZ and Germany are writing articles on it on the request of czech Authorities. It works better then fines and court prosecutions, prostitution dropped significantly since then.

I will be going back in March and will check out the street camera thing in Cheb (that would suck if this is the case but there are always the side streets as I doubt they would put the money into that many cameras).
I typically spend two days in the Teplice area (up north), two days in Cheb area and the rest of the time around Budapest. You should rent a car on your next trip and drive from Czech to Hungary it is worth the rental car price just for the freedom to come and go as you please. Fly into Dresden and fly out of Vienna (you get nicer rental cars on the western side) with a small oneway charge on the car it is the way to go. Make sure you tell the car rental company you will be driving into eastern Europe. Carryon

Thanks. i decided to just stay in Prague. Next time, if i go back, I'll look more into the other cities. i heard they installed street cameras in cheb to cut down on the SW scene, so hopefully it's not completely dead by then...

You can still find a little in both Dubi (including Teplice) and Cheb but if I had to choose one it would be Cheb but don't take a taxi rent a car from the airport (what are you going to do with a street walker in a taxi???). After 10:00pm is the best time although you can find early birds out during the day but not like it was 4 or 5 years ago. In Cheb try in the area by the intersection of Halkova and Karlova and then on the other side of the 606 on Smetanova and then continue across the bridge from Smetanova to Havlickova. But you are not set up for street action if you do not have a rental car so I would take Iancu's advice and try private or hit up a store front establishment. Also I would advise to stay away from the gypsies as some can be a bit aggressive. Enjoy, Carryon

If you read the forum carefully, you'd find out that street protitution has been prohibited in the Czech Republic. The government is pushing towrds prostitution in private places.

I have, but like I said, would like to at least see some street action. Its not so common anywhere anymore. Hell, the only place I've seen it is Thailand and PI, and I've been to many countries and many US states. I guess it's dying out everywhere..

I'm in prague right now. There is no street scene left anywhere, I guess due to the police cracking down on it, czech republics entry into the EU, and legalization of privats and clubs. so....

Is the street scene completely dead in the CR?

I'm even considering hiring a taxi to dubi or cheb if there's anything left there. I prefer the street scene sometimes and I thought the CR was the place. It's not. I guess I got that idea from sites like public invasion, where this guy goes around picking up chicks and doing them in parks. Yeah, it's staged, but it USED to be like that. WTF happened?

Where can i find a gypsie chick? maybe I want to try one, or some young college student type out to make a buck.

Is cheb or dubi worth the drive and the money (200 euro)? If someone tells me the scene is still alive out there (by tomorrow), I might just do it. Won't be around here often.
