Trip Report June 24 – July 6
Part 1 of 3 part report.
I feel I should contribute something to this board as it has been so helpful. Maybe this trip report will be of interest to some. This was my third trip to Thailand. Previously, over two trips, I have been to BKK (8 days), Pattaya (10 days). Koh Samet (2 days), Phuket (6 days). This year’s trip was 5 days in Phuket, then 3 days in Chang Mai, then 5 days in Pattaya.

My friend and I flew from Los Angeles non-stop to BKK on Thai airlines; 18 hours, then onto Phuket. We didn’t have flight reservations to Phuket, so just bought them at the counter when we arrived in BKK. From door to door 25 hours….ouch. Two scotches, two ambiens and 4 movies helped the time go by.

We checked into The Expat Hotel, where I have stayed before. I love the pool there and the location is great. I was disappointed this time however as there is significant construction going on. At 7:30 am the power saws start screaming as they cut tile. I bit much, so after three nights we moved to the C&N hotel. The construction project is extensive, so if any BMs are planning on going there, beware.

The first day we arrived around 11 am using the Expat driving service, showered, ate, walked around and made a path to Christen’s. It was early in the afternoon but there were plenty of beauties available. I was not disappointed. Being clean and refreshed, and with the edge off, we chilled at Shipwrecked waiting for MTB to start up around 10 pm.

We met Nicke, Ead, and the charming ladies there. Nicke was a great host throughout our stay in Phuket. Thank you, Nicke. Around midnight my friend mumbled something about being drunk, having a headache and not sleeping for the last 52 hours- what a wimp. After walking him to the Expat, I went hunting for my first night’s companion, without success. I just couldn’t seem to see anything that caught my eye. So back to MTB.

I had noticed her before, of course, but thought she was with someone else. Smaller than petite, a smile that would light up any room, anywhere. She is beyond cute, beyond beautiful, eyes you can fall into. Twenty-seven (I later checked the ID) but looked eighteen. I am withholding her name, but if you are at MTB you will know whom I mean. A few smiles and a wink later she was mine, and off to the Expat. I spent all five days in Phuket with her, and wished it were forever.

During our stay in Phuket we took her and my friend’s companion to FantaSea. I was more fun watching the girls enjoy the show than watching it. We went to James Bond Island – bats, swimming monkeys, and a great lunch on board the boat. One day chilling at the beach. The time seemed to go by so quickly.

Part 2 of 3: Chang Mai
You may ask why travel to Chang Mai when I had found everything I wanted in Phuket. Well, my friend really wanted to go, so off we went. As I said we had no reservations anywhere after Phuket. We met “Joy” the owner of Black Dog bar across from C&N. She was from Chang Mai and gave us many helpful ideas, including the name and address of two hotels (written in Thai for the taxi). We bought tickets at the airport. We arrived at Tapai hotel (not able to read Thai, it was a surprise), which is near the night bazaar and the bar area.

After checking in we asked directions to the nearest bar, and got completely lost. Really lost. We then stopped at an auto parts store to asked directions to the nearest bar. After much confusion and finding a woman that spoke English, she told us to take a tuk-tuk and ask for a “bar-bar”, or something like that. We did so, and ended up at an umbrella factory!

The “tuk-tuk” driver, Dea, was cool, and understood then what we wanted and took us to a bar 2 blocks away from our hotel! He suggested that his brother had a taxi and would take us anywhere we wanted to go the next day. Why not? Sam (what we called him) showed us around for the next two days. We saw five temples (including the one on the mountain that purportedly has the bone relics of Buddha), elephant show (got waked in the ribs by the trunk of a baby), snake show (nightmares), orchid farm (really we are not gay), several truly great Thai restaurants (Thais in three provinces were impressed with my ability to eat chilies), the hot springs (talked with a monk), and two trips to a soapy.

The soapy was very much like Christen’s. Fish bowl, 1 ½ hours, 2,000 Bt. The first time I chose a 22-year old beauty. She was great. For those threads that have asked about busty TGs, she was a solid and real C cup. The second girl was a real D cup. Really. She was mechanical, but OK. Maybe I was just missing my beauty from MTB?

We hit the bar scene one night. It is one small street with about 15 open air bars. We did a ST with a couple of BGs to a “hotel” across the street. The “hotel” was 200 Bt, and overpriced. Something out of a bad movie, and scary. It is frightening what I will do at 2 am when drunk and horny.

The last morning we went to the airport, again without reservations. The next Thai Air flight was full and the following flight had only business class and was five hours off. The Thai Air agent suggested Nok Air. That would never happen in the US. The next flight was 45 minutes away and half the price of Thai Air economy. Off to BKK.

I had many drinks with Dave (Joy's partner). Really enjoyed it as its quite different to the usual bars that are around.

LuckyB, sounds like you were quite taken with the MTB girl. I know how that can happen! Didn't it ever occur to you to take her on the plane with you for the trip to Chiang Mai and Pattaya? I'm sure she would have loved it! :yes:

As i'm planning somewhat to visit the same destinations on my next trip in november (BKK-Pattaya-Chiang Mai-Patong), here's my question : what did you pay for the domestic flights, would it be cheaper to book them in advance?

If you want to save $$, then fly with Nok Air, Orient Thai, or Air Asia. I prefer either of Nok or Orient, because the baggage limit is only 15 kg on Air Asia, but if your travelling light, then no big difference. With Nok Air you may need to book in advance, however, unless you by your ticket at the airport, as they wanted me to fax info to them(passport copy, credit card info), before they would sell me a ticket online or on the phone. With Orient Thai, it's a snap, and no problems with Air Asia for booking, either, except you may have to do it over the phone, instead of online(20 Baht extra for phone assistance). Air Asia is more for some flights, however, when you don't book a few days in advance. Overall, I guess I liked Orient Thai the best. They are the easiest to book online, and no extra cost for last minute booking!!

Phuket to BKK on Orient Thai is 1750 Baht, all fees, surcharges included. Phuket to BKK on Air Asia prices vary a good bit, from 1400 Baht to 2250 Baht, depending on the day of the week and the time of day the flight departs.
