I don't think a person can think this way. There are many girls here who are not bar girls but have certainly been with more guys than some pornstars. I think compared to girls from Hong Kong and Singapore, Thai women certainly seem to have more fun for themselves.

Living here I have put some rules for myself on the type of girls I date:

1. They must not have more than two tatoos of their former boyfriends name on their bodies.
2. No more than 8 tatoos total on their body. ( I hate tatoos on the neck or above)
3. No more than one diamond in the tooth of their mouth.
4. Less than 5 kids (Yep thats a biggy for me)
5. Must not smoke more than two packs of cigs a day.
6. Must not drink more than 2 pints of Sansome a day.
7, Must wake up before 4pm (don't wont a lazy one)
8. Must remember my name when having sex.
9. Must not text her secret sponsor while we are having sex.

Yeah I know some of you guys think I'm being a bit strict here but you must establish clear boundries for yourself so you won't wind up with a girl from the wrong side of the tracks.

Trust is an issue in al relationships. It just seems that it is an especially big issue between BGs and farangs, where the BG gets so jealous, usually about nothing, and the farang always wonder if she means the things she says or is just after the money. After all, we all know that it is , "No money, no honey," when it comes to realtionships with BGs.

Trust takes time to build. That is why it is so hard for someone to cmoe to LOS and develop a meaningful relationship in just the few weeks or months that a person is on holiday!!

Most of us go on holiday for 3 or 4 weeks per year if you go to lOS with the intention of meeting a GTG in the hope of forming a more permenant and lasting relationship all well and good but you won't be able to do this in such a short time frame.

Some of these girls may come from respected Thai families and even look down on you being a farang you will have to prove yourself to both her and her family this all takes time, more time than with a farang farang relationship you will be expected to understand and respect their culture and their way of doing things.

If you have the time and would like a Thai wife( and her family) well there are plenty of dating sites you can pursue one of these relationships.

If like most you only have 4 weeks holiday per year and choose to spend it in lOS and wish to make the most of your 4 weeks, welcome to the party.

River, good post, and I agree with most of what you state, albeit I am not a believer in dating sites.

Since I've been collecting negative posts on this thread from members who are afraid to leave their name (stating "love is not mathematics" and "bad attitude"), I thought I would add one more post for them to give me another negative mark.

I've read many negative posts and complaints on this forum about those berating Thai woman and how they are only interested in money. I've also read posts by many who state they know of very few cases where such Thai-falang marriages have worked.

And then I've read posts on the other side of the spectrum of the wonderful romantics on this forum (who I admire a lot more than those with the negative view) who think love can cure all. Well, I happen to agree with the romantics, but I also want to strike a chord of realism that not all love is the same, and some love is up to the task of bridging a large gap in backgrounds, and a lot of loving relationships are not up to the task.

If my efforts to point out why such relationships can fail, and where the reefs are, and where one can try to "sail in safer waters" to avoid the reefs causes "negative" assessments, then so be it.

But next time why don't those with the negative "complaints" step up like a f**ging man, and put your name to the negative score. I've got better things to do than waste my time on this forum trying to help such jerks, by offering some of the experience I gained in life, at expense, through the school of hard knocks and mistakes. Clearly they know it all already, and don't need any differing opinions.

And with that, I cease all posts on this forum. Clearly my presence is not needed nor welcome.

The phone calls at night really made me angry. I told her to shut down the phone when going to bed (in any sense). The fuss about 'mama wants to call me when she gets sick' is pure nonsense.

Shopping makes fun, only the gold shops are a bit expensive. Therefore set your budget and NEVER take your credit card or bank card with you, when you go shopping with her. Always use cash money.

the girl i am going to marry is innocent never left the village. always chaperoned when walking in the village or udon.

the money i send this girl every month for her english lessons, would not keep a bg in alcohol, gambling or mobiles for a week, there i think lies the difference, bgs live a high and fast lifestyle and maybe can not adapt to a quieter suburban life overseas, where as i hope my girl will adapt to this lifestyle.

If he feels that is the best way for him and ensures what he feels gives him a better chance of meeting the right girl in LOS for him then so be it. I think your views are refreshing, opinionated and honest and I for one feel your points are valid and should be taken in the context with regards to the nature of the thread being discussed.

I have met a few Thai girls on the web and then done the physical meeting when I got there. The failure ratio in my experience is high. I do not bother any more. It is far easier for them to stretch the truth on the net and tell you what they think you want to hear in email or chat. From my experience it has just been a large waste of my time and money.

BG or non BG I don’t care, judge them as I find them. I am far from perfect and I have no right to judge a BG doing her job to support her family and herself. I would not want to pay for all of my sins at once.
The non BG can be a bigger pain if you want to get rid of them as was said before and my experience confirms this. They can cost just as much as a BG if not more.

If I ended up with a BG that has been with numerous men I would hope that she would appreciate being treated nice and being supported and who know that you weren’t like the men who treat them not as well as I hope most BMs do.
Been around a bit, more to teach me and I am willing to learn. :biggrinlo

Like a few people have pointed out on here, in my own experience I'm not really bothered what a girl's rep is, as long as she's ok with me. Yeah fair enough, if you're with someone in any 'couple' type situation, then I suppose it's only natural to be a bit more wary of a girl who goes out with loads of blokes, whether in a BG situation or not- I'm talking at home or LOS or anywhere here.

I've never been married or engaged, in fact at 36, discounting the occasional ex who wants some boom-boom for old time's sake, the longest relationship I've been in is just under 2 years. All through my twenties I used to get wound up about this, especially as my mates were settling down one by one.
Tell you what though, I'm pretty much happy about it now. I never say never, but as we all get wiser with age I've no regrets whatsoever. In my own case I've discovered contentment within myself simply by not being bothered, and this doesn't necessarily mean nailing yourself to a girl's mast for life (figuratively & literally !).

I've cried myself to sleep over women occasionally, if we're honest I'm sure everyone's done that, but, well, so what ? Yeah there's not many finer feelings than being with someone who you think the world of and they think the same, but this usually means a greater fall when it goes tits up !

When it averages out, I tend to find that girls who've been round the block a few times are a lot more worldly-wise, and if they think a lot of you then think of it as a good thing, as they've more exes to compare you to yet your own character's still shone through. I've usually found that those girls who believe they're a pinnacle of virtue, tend to be more up their own arses and are bloody hard work because of it.

I'd say this is why I prefer the LOS BGs to the 'respectable' issue-laden women of my own country. As much as I'd like to bring a Thai girl to England for a holiday, I bet if they stayed any length of time they'd start getting English girl delusions of grandeur. Respect to those that have brought girls here though. And of course, not all English girls are hard work- only about 85% of 'em :ytounge:

everyone is different and some bgs are not living the high life or would make a wonderfull girl friend maybe partner.

in my occupation (mental health) i deal with and manage peoples lifes for them, so maybe i am to harsh and see things to much in black and white.

I guess I must be on the dense side of things, because all of my life I have never hunted women down for there hand in marriage...but hunted them down..yes..but it was for there softer parts that I was seeking out The love I have had was purely by accident and nothing more.

I never believed you could set out on a quest and find someone to fit a mold or some predefined perfect woman..the fact is there is no such thing. I call this the fairy tale effect.

After experiencing the things that I have the only thing I know that I consider absoulute fact is that life never turns out as you imagined it and one day you will breathe your last breath.

To me there is no right nor wrong, no plan to work out what will be. As all things are unknown to you, so is how your love life will play itself out.

Should she be this or that or something in between will never answer the question of will it work out or stand the test of time. Each day and each person finds there way in there own time and manner, you can not plot and work a plan to find your way when dealing with these matters, some men will take one path some will take another...it is the same for the women you seek.

I have a list of things I have kept around as I am one of those people that enjoys the use of words to explain the way I see things, could it be that non of us truely know a damn thing and we all are only searching for what cools our thirst.

Be slow in choosing, especially with regard to wife or husband.

Just some thoughts that maybe have nothing to do with any of this, but then that's the beauty of it all, each of us see's life just a little bit different than the next, I for one believe this is why it is such an interesting ride.
