Covid 19 vaccine is experimental, that means it's not proven safe, period. With a recovery rate over 99.5% you don't need a damn vaccine. If you are afraid of getting sick never leave hime. Done.

Those numbers are really huge in supporting how effective the vaccine is. Ask a professional gambler what an amazing bet it is to take the vaccine. It's not a close thing here.

There is no argument about whether it works or not and no argument about how safe it is other than from people with blogs and time who dont understand numbers.

fwiw -There are some other notes above about post infection being as good as the vax and that is a fair point. Also you can't force someone to take it, I agree it has to be a personal choice.

For me taking the vaccine is a question of solidarity with others not as strong as you. I dont want to take the damn things either.

Take the vax or not, that's your call, for sure. But anyone spending time encouraging others not to take it is a lot of confidence in their analysis and ability over the entire worldwide medical consensus.

I don't believe the vaccine is that effective. Otherwise we wouldn't be having wave after wave of the damn virus.

Hello guys!

Interesting thread. Lots of different statements and opinions from both sides: vaxed and
unvaxed.

In my deep ignorance I am confused with this covid issue. Maybe some of you could shed some light
on a few questions that bother me. Especially those who are vaccinated. They surely did extensive research
and were fully informed taking a shot. After all it takes courage and determination to accept into your body
a new substance which is irreversible.

So here are some questions to which I can not find a logical answer:

1. For the last few month the bars, restaurants, gyms etc were open for vaccinated clients only.
Why are they closed now?

2. All vaccines were tested and approved for two doses only (Johnson&Johnson for one). Any subsequent
shot seems to be a pure gamble. Why boosters are now promoted?

3. Currently Omicron is the dominant variant. All available vaccines are highly ineffective against it.
Why are they still mandated?

4. Over 80% of Canada population is fully vaccinated and yet there are more cases then before vaccinations. Why?

5. Covid among children was always rare and relatively mild. Why children are vaccinated?

1. Do you seriously think that people did not pay someone to photoshop them a vaccine passport? I don't think he is capable of doing it on his own, but I am sure someone in his trailer park must have been making a killing selling those. Did you see government officials at restaurants checking for vaccine status? The governments can set any number of rules, but enforcing them is a different matter. The government probably realized that things were getting out of control and decided it's better to shut down all indoor dining venues than to throw more policies at the antivaxxers. Much easier to have bylaw drive around and slapping fines on open restaurants than to chase antivaxxers with fake vaccine passports.

2. The vaccines were tested and approved against the original COVID virus, it has mutated into omnicron now and it has less efficacy. Mind you, even if it is just 50% effective to prevent infection that is huge, given how easily the new variant spreads.

3. Something is better than nothing, but like I said many times if antivaxxers want to stay at home and isolate then that's fine too. Unfortunately those are the people that want to exercise their freedoms and rights to spread disease naturally.

4. New variant. The virus will keep mutating as long as it has hosts that it can infect.

6. Because an infected person becomes a COVID factory. Symptoms or not, they are hosting the virus to replicate itself and keep spreading. The more and longer the virus keeps reproducing the more chances it will mutate. Each mutation has the potential to render vaccines less effective.
