I read your original post to remember what you asked. Well, you can bring him everywhere, there is no area that should be avoided. Also if he 19 years old, he is already an adult.

For best experience and first time here, do touristic things during the daytime and enjoy the bars in the nighttime, e.g. diving, fishing, sea canoe, elephant trekking, shooting range, james bond island, ATV, gokart, jeep safari and so on. Rent a driver and visit the different beaches or look around the island. (Or rent a motorbike if you feel comfortable with that, more freedom when looking around.)

The only problem I can forsee is that it may spoil him, and never wanting to go somewhere else for other travel experiences when he start work and earning money himself. In that regard he is maybe too young. Most young people go to south europe for party, girls and booze or do some backpacking to see the world.

But I am sure both of you will have a good time. I know a father who comes here with his two sons once or twice a year, they usually split the time between Pattaya and Patong. I think one of the sons have a permanent Thai gf now. The younger one of them is maybe 19-23, i dont remember exactly.

There are a few bars/pubs where you can have a more "relaxed" drink in the evening. I just mention the Irish Pubs like Scruffy Murphy and so. I love looking to the passers-bye around 1900 in the evening, especially the ladies going to work. I allways sit outside at the bar in Club Rio. There are of course other places like that in Soi Bangla, like the terrace of the "Monte Carlo", the bar opposite Club Rio, some pool bars, Gonzo bar, Shipwreck bar and some others with direct view on Soi Bangla, not situated in the Sois.
Later on it can be fun to drink in Soi Eric which for me is less wild than some other sois.
If you want to show your son a gogo-bar, then go for Rock Hard above Club Rio. I still find it the classiest of all, no sleezy shows and no touts shouting like at some gogo's in Soi Seadragon.
Why don't you take your son for a classic Thai massage, although some ladies may offer him a massage on "extra" part of his body. You won't know it, my cousin had an extra with his wife lying behind the curtain next to him.

I am sure plenty of young guys love it. As much as they love sex in Ibiza or anywhere else for that matter. But a lot of young guys would find it off putting because they are petrified of disease and some find the girls agressive, I know this first hand from many actually.

Andy as for your sister tearing me to shreds...well I guess that could happen but don't you think its a bit of a double standard considering so many of the guys in Thailand are with girls 19 and they are a lot older than me?

I have never had problems with guys mums or dads for that matter, in fact I was introduced to a 17 year old by his father some weeks ago, you would have to know me to understand it, even I do not always get it, but it is what works for me much like BG's are what works for many of you...as I say, to each their own.

Also you might just want to wait at the airport when they get off the plane and ask if they have every been to Phuket before, if they haven't your in luck.

Hello..of coarse its a double standard...You know I was trying to stand up for you on another thread...then I come here...See this is why so many men have an attitude about western women...you tend to think you know what's best for men in general....when the real fact is you haven't a clue and just can't deal with the fact that you will never have a clue as to what being a guy is all about. The double standard is exactly why thailand is such a great place, who the hell wants to be young and with an old woman? Sorry but I dont know 1 who would not love it, All young guys would revel in that sort of situtation, And why? Because we all love attention, Especially from beautiful girls and that does not mean they have to sleep with them but they would love the attention no doubt.

And on your other point about double standards, I dont know one single mother who would not like to see her son go out with a girl his own age, And would most certainly not approve of a women nearly twice his age going out with her son. And I also know they would not approve of 30/40yr old men going out with BGs either but thats not there responsibility and who says they agreed with it anyway? Thats the difference.

I am glad you feel able to speak for all young guys. Since I spend a lot of time with young guys I can tell you many would like the attention but for the fact that they smell a skunk from a mile away. Let me tell you what some of them say:

Its sooo fake. She is just after money. They are pretty but dangerous. God knows what diseases she has. I wouldn't touch that shit with his ****. Etc.

These are comments I remember from guys I know. I also tend to hang around northern European guys who are not used to such attention and find it frightening especially within the context of the above. I was seeing a guy here in BKK who was on holiday and he was petrified of going near them. He grabbed my hand every time we walked by them and called them pyrana girls.

I do not doubt lots of lads from UK and perhaps other places LOVE it, but trust me, many don't.

As for mothers wanting their sons to date girls their age, yep I agree, many do, some don't care and leave it up to their son. And frankly, most guys I date are between 18-25 and NONE of their families had a problem with me but one and it was his dad who thought I was too old and came around after a while. Many did say they usually would have a problem but liked me, or I was not the same etc. but none had a problem with me and some even adored me!
