Does that mean you would support my right to pay a doctor for healthcare in Ontario? Because currently, it is against Ontario Law to pay a doctor for medically necessary healthcare.

I can pay an MPA for a HJ, but I can't pay a doctor for healthcare. That's Canadian values.

I actually say that to people when they tell me they are proud to be Canadian. You should see the stunned look on their face and the long pause they take when they don't know how to answer.

I know what you are saying, some people can't see past the smoke in their face. The question about doctors would require some thought though. My reasoning at this point is that there are somethings that are essential, like clean water for native people, respect. Health is also one, whether it would be impaired by your right to purchase, I do not know. I do know that a buddy of mine in Florida is looking at $25k per year for health insurance. He has wealth, but he begrudges the obscene cost. The US is one of the last places where health is strictly purchased. So it has its problems too.

I had nose surgery by one of the top nose surgeons in the world, in America, for $4,000 U.S. No waiting time, done the day I arrived. I also saw a Chicago throat specialist for $1300 USD. Everything done in 1 day. Consultation, diagnostic imaging, swallowing tests and treatment, all in 1 day. In Canada, same treatment can take 6, 8 or 12 months. How much do Canadians lose by waiting? Waiting costs money.

At the very least, I am sure you would agree that Ontarians should be able to spend as much on their own health care as they spend on their pets healthcare each year, right? If I spend $3,000 on a surgery for Fido, I should be able to spend the same on myself, right?

In Japan, they have public and private. Very, very good system. The public users wait about 12 days for surgery, the private individuals wait about 5 days. In Ontario, the wait can be months or even more than 1 year. We have Ontarians that die on waiting lists for surgery. Imagine that. Refused the opportunity to pay, get put on a waiting list, and they die.

But, if they want to go to the Casino at Niagara Falls and spend $10,000, no problem. The law allows for that.

I am aware of the Japanese system, the doctors are fully equipped. I think there is a huge amount of waste here as well as the US, I don't think that is the case in Japan.
like I said it is complex and with many variables, not something I want to get into but I understand your POV.

Person: Well, it isn't free, but you don't have to pay to see the doctor
Me: If you don't have to pay and I don't have to pay, who pays?

Me: Who pays your taxes?

Person: I pay my taxes

You should see the nurses in Japan. Fucking sexy as hell. When I went to get a stomach scope done in Nagoya (same day, no wait, $237 all in, including specialist appt, 2 hours total time), the nurse was so fucking hot, I wanted to bang her 10x over. If you ever go online and find a Japanese girlfriend, look for one that works as a nurse. Sweet, caring and sexy.
