Gift Certificates for Outcalls

Hello. My business is currrently outcalls only, besides the chiro I work with. I want to do some sort of holiday promo for gift certificates. I have never sold gift certificates before (I'm just starting out on my own). Most of the people I will be advertising the gift certificates to are clients I met at a chair event but have not yet massaged (full body). They signed my mailing list and I want to hopefully get them as clients and I thought gift certificates were a great way. I was wondering how I should handle the actual transaction? Meaning should I hand deliver them? I wouldn't normally mind, but most live 45 mins or so away from me so that doesn't sound too appealing. I'm thinking of doing a special like buy 3 get 4 free or half off etc. as to entice them to treat themselves. That way it would be worth me driving the distance. I know this sounds kinda duh! But I've never done this before t115! Any thoughts?

I have mailed out gift certificates, but only after I have received payment in the mail. You could try that.

You could mail them, when someone calls to ask have them mail a check to you the you mail the certificates. Some around MassagePlanet sell GCs over the internet through their website.

Do you have any friends/contacts with local business'? could you have them carry and sell your gift certificates for you in trade for monthly massage for the owner? My friend owns a floral shop in a town where I have an office, its about 35 miles away from my home and I am only in that town two days a week so it was most convenient for me to have her sell them 7 days a week. I know and trust her and her employees so it works well for me.

Sounds like a good idea. Just make sure that you re-word this as buy 3 and get the 4th for free... which is what I think you mean. You really have to be careful how you word things when marketing.

Very quickly, you could have a website & beautiful online gift certificates to sell directly from your site. I got a lovely advertisement from them, checked out the site & it seems great.

i'm mobile and i deliver gc's when possible. one of the advaneforum.xxxes of marketing your mobile business is that it is very convenient for the client to use your services. they call; you show up. i've sold quite a few last minute gc's because i deliver.
i have a paypal account in case anyone out-of-area wants to buy a gift for an in-town client as well as the option to mail a check or money order or travellers checks.

Of all the gift certificates I've sold, I've only mailed out 1 and had one delivered with a bunch of flowers - every other certificate has been sent as a PDF or Microsoft Word document for them to print out themselves - works perfectly for VERY last minute gifts.

I use PayPal for a lot of payments.
