Until you have been to both its impossible to make a generalisation. I like both for different reasons. Pattaya probably has 10x (I am guessing!) as many available girls as Patong... and beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I am always happy in both places...

Patt's is sterotyped agreed, and I am the sterotyper...I first visited Patts in 1988, for me it had nothing then, I went again in 92 and again nothing, visited it again on the hopes that my outlook had changed as I am now a self confessed mongerer, a few weeks back, again nothing, (in all fairness to Patts I wasn't feeling well) however, no interaction with the girls, no sanuk, nothing but pick the HO and do the business, why I like the Patong scene is I can have a few drinks with a lass, she doesn't say to me I will be back in 15 minutes as I have to go and dance, gogo's are a mongerers paradise,.... look at the seforum.xxxe, find the HO, wave your Baht and away you go.
I am not saying that the Patong scene isn't a business transaction, but a laugh, a joke, a bit of fun, some chat, makes the scene there more enjoyable for me.

This is a very funny discussion. I love people that say ohhh I am so good looking so I dont have to pay the ******s when I want to f...ck. I dont think any girl are there because they are so horny and are looking for a handsome farang to spend the night with for free. I think some of us are forgetting where we are and thinks that you are at a nightclub in Sweden, Australia or England where you actually can pick up a girl if you use your charm.

Everybody knows that the girls are doing this because they need to suport poor familys somewhere in the countryside in thailand. It is not their first choice of work. That makes it patetic when young guys are talking about how good looking they are and that they can pay almost nothing for a good night with a prostitute. Its like oohh I am a fat man that loves food so I pay almost nothing when I go to the restaurant.

not really a fair comparison, your talking a 200% increase on the beer and only a few % on the bg(depends on her "rate" ) for a 'couple of hundred'.

for me 300 bt for a beer forget it, it would make a major difference to my choice of bar to drink at, but i have never negotiated a price with a girl beforehand and always left what i thought was fair the next day, never been a cheap charlie and never had a complaint or any sort of hassle with a girl over payment.

I`ve also been in the position where a night out happens with a TG,spur of the moment,and i`ve been caught with my pants down financially.

Usually the girls know you are generous and genuine,so there`s no problem.

Spur of the moment/unplanned nights out tend to be the best these days.

...Listen, I'm not a cheap skate actually Pablo. however I work in the service industry and I don't get holiday pay so I have £2000 to pay on outgoings for my mortgage and bills before I even go, plus another £2000-3000 on my hols. I blew a lot more than I needed to for my 1st time in Patts and ended up skint at the end. Why? Not my fault, but because many people on forums were not helpful, even to the point of giving mis-information or partisan, biased advice coz they're tied into one bar/club or another etc. or just coz they don't want the competition for them and their forum friends. Seems pretty similar to me on here so far too?!

There's plenty for everyone in LOS, and I'd always wanna help people, personally. I ended up wasting my time to going to crap, overly expensive bars, full of rotters with all the atmosphere of the moon because of people like this. I only got totally clued up at the end when I was about fly home broke.

And yeah, 200-300bht more for a BG is nothing once or twice but every night it adds up as does paying 55bht for a beer instead of 200bht if you like a drink : and over a month in LOS and that's money that I could put towards elephant trekking, fishing, scuba, taking a boat out or having the odd "manage a troi" and I wouldn't get to do that coz some jealous old saddo talked a load of s**t and sent me on a wild goose chase!

Really simple...If you don't wanna be objective or helpful to people, don't bother to read the thread when you see the header and definitely don't reply to it, coz there are people who are willing to help here,then everyones' a winner?!

So do tell though...What the hell is this forum for if it isn't for such matters...pathetic!...Is it just an old boys bragging network?
