Hot Stone Therapy?

hi, thank you all for the some really good ideas! i just started incorporating the stones into my massages so your comments have been very helpful. my friend that learned lastone therapy gave me a few classes. does anyone know of a dvd that they could recommend to learn more? i'm more interested in using the stones in my hands right now than the layout stones. i'm also interested in using the cold stones. i haven't purchased the marble stones yet but i put some of the basalt stones in the freezer and am using those. is that okay do you think?

I wouldn't put them in the freezer. At that temperature they could crack (I would think?) I keep some "moonstones" (milky quartzite) rose quartz, jade and some basalt stones in the fridge and that keeps them plenty cool enough. When I take them out of the fridge to take the the room, I put either an ice pack or some ice cubes in the bowl with them to keep them cold.

All of the DVDs that I would recommend incorporate the layout stones so they're probably not what you're looking for. Perhaps someone else will have a good suggestion?

thanks, i took the stones out of the freezer and put them in the fridge. also, that would be okay if the dvd demonstrates layouts but i would like to also see techniques using the hot and/or cold stones in the hands as well. any advice on a good one to get that's also hopefully not too expensive. also, is the moonstone cheaper than the marble? where did you get your moonstone or jade rocks? i saw that someone mentioned a scooper with a wooden handle that they couldn't find anymore. i found one of those with a bamboo handle and a stainless steel scooper at walmart today for about $5. it's very nice looking but i haven't tried it yet. it's called asian trends stainless steel skimmer.

My two favorite dvds are Sacred Stone and Healing Stone They aren't cheap but they are very much worth the money IMHO.

is the moonstone cheaper than the marble? where did you get your moonstone or jade rocks?

I got my moonstones from healingstonemassage and the jade and rose quartz from my local new age shop. I believe the moonstones are cheaper than marble but it's been a while since I've bought mine.
