Me and a mate of mine went to Phuket last year in November '05 both 18, went pretty much everywhere, Tiger, Taipan, Safari, all the bars, clubs, and so on, didn't get questioned at all, although I must admit we are quite mature for our age, I saw a few other blokes who were older that weren't on their best behavior. i was in more bars with my dad before he died when iw as 4 than ive probably been since!
back then, thats what dads did. took their kids to the bar.

If I remember correctly, I was asked for ID at either Tiger or Banana. I was only 21 at the time, and looked younger (The girls thought i was only 16!) When i said i didnt have any, they let me in anyway. SO it does happen, but maybe to the people who the locals can't stop grabbing their cheeks!!!!:mad2: But thats another story!

Well I'm a newbie here too - coming to Patong for the first time April 15th...

I was just wondering. Bringing your kids to Patong, how is that? Thinking about you going with BG's etc. - how does your daughter think about that? Or are you "staying clean" whilst she's with you? Or?

when my nieces were in patong in november and my father and his girlfriend in august, they never had an idea what i was up to at night.

if with family you can monger if inclined just be subtle about it, i never have the BG around with me during the day, so other hotel guests eg farang familys only see a tourist sitting back by the pool drinking beer and reading his book. the hotel staff know everything about whats going on but they would never ask where the BG is in english perhaps a comment in thai with a smile.

Sarah is doing great every time we are in LOS, third time for her in February. As LIL said, I am married to a TG and my daughter loves to stay with her, learning the language, about the culture, meeting her friends, etc.....
