How about if we do NOT double the rates paid to these overpaid, underworked denizens of the underground economy?

Since $40 at a real job would be taxed down to $20, giving them $40 is akin to $80 to anyone else.

Give them $20 and say the other $20 was sent in as a donation to reducing the federal debt. Let's remember that $20 + maybe $10 from the house fee is $30...5 customers a day minimum = $150/day, $750/week, 50 weeks in a year $37,500 cash free, equivalent to $75,000 in the real world. So, why feel sorry??? Sure beats knitting sweaters in Lviv.

You are lucky, Fred, to perhaps know a few of the ethical and patriotic amongst the group. Perhaps your friends are citizens and feel that it is their responsibility to contribute to this great nation.

Unfortunately, many MP/SP are not citizens, and have no attachment to Canada. Tax evasion is even more widespread in Russia and China than it is here, so it becomes part of the culture.

If Revenue Minister Lawrence Bergman can publicly state that over 50% of those involved in the general service industries (i.e. barmaids, waiters, repairmen, handymen, etc.) are underreporting their income, the same percentage or greater must surely apply to the further fringes of the economy.

Remember that the Feds didn't get Al Capone for murder or conspiracy, but for tax evasion.

So ? I used to work for one of the Big Five banks.
I can assure you some of them under report income as well.
Go to any bank head office you will find a big army of highly qualified accountants and tax experts. Do you think they hire them to spend the day playing cards ?
Same can be said about the construction industry - many small construction companies pay employees under the table.
Why single out the adult industry ?

Not necessarily, mostly it's just a perception that they create ( ie: that they are above board, in reality their tax experts hide many rotten skelletons ) and ofcourse a good bank always has an army of lawyers as well on it's payroll just in case. My point is noone likes to pay taxes and that many escorts do infact pay taxes. Some don't, buy same is true of other segments of society. Perhaps tax avoidance is highly prevalant in the adult entertainment industry ( mainly I think that is due to the semi-legal nature of the business ) but my point is I can think of other segments of society where
the same is true.

So the subject was about having a standard for tips.

No offence to anyone but keep on track the subject. It make reading more interesting.

If you want to talk about mp/sp industries making billions of $$$ and tax evasion, so create a thread so we could all give our opinion. That would be more interesting.

With due respect, the above comments on taxation are quite relevant.
Taxation is one element in deciding how much one will tip a provider!
Tips and no tax does indeed make a difference at the end of the day for a provider!..and for us ...
At the restaurant, do you tip on top of the sales taxes?
Same should apply for a provider!

Many of you will not admit that we all enjoy bargains. I can tell you that there are some real gems out there. I have enjoyed $45 massage with HJ included quite often, not too uncommon offerings from independants. I have also enjoyed Gems.

Example 1: Young platinum blond (natural) 22 year old student offering massage in skirt with thong undies, touching allowed under skirt and on breast $45 with HJ included. (this was several years ago, at that price there were no shortage of regulars and she only did it to get herself through university)

Example 2: I know 2 independant MPs that offer BJs in place of the HJs for the standard $20 tip.

Example 3: Independant MP that offers full service with her massage.

A standardized tip schedule is only beneficial if you are now paying much more than the suggested tip rates.

When I read the columns here it almost makes me sick to see how much you tip the girls for a simple hj. These are not professionnal therapists, they have no studies in massage and basically giving you a hj is their only purpose in a massage parlor. The girls do get a basic fee for each client they get and they can do between 7 to 12 each day.
Unless I get a deductible and valid receipt for my insurance, I don't tip a girl for a hj alone. It should be part of the massage purely and simply. If a girl is friendly (GFE) and doesn't piss you off, then we can start to think of tipping. I see so many guys here tipping girls that have pissed them off $40 or $50, well that is simply stupid.
A girl should not get a tip if she does not undress at least at the top. You can a stroke a naked girl for $10 in any dance club for crying out loud. Stop overtipping, you are not helping yourself get better service.
When a girl offers more like a bj or totally naked I guess you can give $30 to $40 depending on the way it's done. Don't forget this is tax free money, so compare to what you earn making it in the real world.

Well said Oinke. I think alot of us feel that way.
I believe the folks that frequent the classier joints like Spa Diva are expected to tip appropriately after their $75/hr massages as well. I know that when I travel, and stay in exclusive resorts, tips are always expected by the massage therapists.

What these girls do deserve a tip and much more than a waitress,( canot even compare) think about it with the right head. and thank god they are there, what to do without them.!?! many of them also do have a university degree or in the process, but you wouldn't know it because your not there for that reason or don't get to know them well enouph to have this information shared with you.
In this matter size does have revelance .... the bigger the tip the better the service.
As for standardization who can decide, it should be as your heart-pocket desires and as diverse as the men who are visiting them.
taxes I won't go there since wanting receits for the HJ at the local parlor is not something I'm sure you are sharing with the tax man
