Little Louie Vega who is one of my favourite DJ's will play at Seduction Nightclub on 11th December.. If anyone goes please post some pics!

"Little" Louie Vega, is one half of the Masters At Work musical production team. He was born to a musician family, as his father, Luis Vager, was a jazz saxophonist, and his uncle was singer Hector Lavoe of the Fania All Stars, so it was without surprise that he started his DJ career spinning records at the age of 13.

By 1985, he was playing house and block parties in his local Bronx neighborhood of New York, as well as engineering and mixing (Erasure's The Two Ring Circus features his earliest dabblings in the studio. His first nightclub residency was at the Devil’s Nest, in the Bronx, and later he moved to Roseland, Studio 54 and the Palladium in Manhattan. During the 1990s, Vega was playing at one of the most influential nightclubs for house music, The Sound Factory Bar. By the mid-90s, the Masters At Work team had Vega spending less time behind the turntables and more time in the studio as the team's remixing skills became legendary.

How was it ??

Had a nasty flu / bad throat for the last 6 or 7 days.. not quite better and know a night out would be back to square one.

Just got over my 7 day flu in time to check this out.

Was good. Music seemed a little dated. Past his prime? Good turn out for a Tuesday night and solid vibe.

But is Phuket ready for this?

Crowd was mostly expat guys, fashionable gay thai guys, hi-so phuket thai girls by way of work or marriage, and the odd tourist. Not the core of the Phuket market. At 500 baht entrance and normal drink prices, that would be a super deal in Singapore and the place would be packed.

Can Phuket support venues like Seduction, Club Lime, and the newer places like soon-to-be-open Rain/Hail or the new White Box?

Have to admit that after awhile we got board and went for a quick tour of Bangla. Maybe Phuket just operates on a different vibe. Super slick just isn't enough.

I also heard that white box restaurant intends to be having DJs ??

Can it support huge names ?? Doubt it.. Can it just have ok music played by normal names with the odd big name thrown in.. Sure it can..

RainHail is up Bangtao way and launches this Friday the 14th (thought it was the 19th). Even though that is is the fancy area, the only place that is really busy is watermark on their 2 for 1 friday happy hour. Red Room is closed. So will it be another slick but boring?

Regardless, I hoping to make it up there. Anyone else?

Rain Hail - Restaurant Villas Lounge

Haven't made it to the white box yet. Any good? Looks good and may try it soon. They have a dj from france coming in for the 10,000 baht/couple new years eve party. Again, will it be fancy but boring?

Phuket makes your brain work differently I think.

Thinking so long to that, since the Q bar leave bangla Road some years Before, we have to admit if we want a good clubbing place, we need also some magic area, parking a car near bangla...
Clubbing in Thailand let us bangkok and Koh Samui, with by the way for both two super club the Q bar

Q bar was in The ocean plaza in Bnagla Road, around 4-5 years before.
Was a nice bar, with great cocktails and cool music, if some get some pictures will be great.

I know the place you are talking about. But it wasn't associated with the Bangkok branch. Was a cool place to chill with a drink before taking off to Star Wars.

I wish they would put Star Wars back. That boxing ring is a total waste of time and money. I liked that sticky out space ship, it gave me a sense of direction when I was trying to get home the next morning!





THats what I was thinking. I just couldn't put the bloke who sung that and a top DJ together in the same person. He reminded me of Milli Vanilli. As well as Boney M.
