Lympathic massage advice

Hi everyone. Just after some advise please. My partner's legs are very swollen raising them does nothing. they have been like this for weeks, he's under the doctor, macmillian, etc. macmlllian were trying to arrange someone to do a lympathic massage but its not come to fruition as yet. He has asked me if I can do a lympathic massage. I am not trained in massage, as because of my hands I can't do anything where I have to put a lot of pressure on. At the moment I do reiki and occasionally IHM on him. He is terminally ill with months rather than years to live. I do not have the time to go anywhere and learn the techniques. Are there any basic techniques that someone can email and with l.m is it quite a light touch or more like a deep massage, if deep i won't be able to do because of my hands). I am just concerned about not doing the techniques right, he is more concerned about being able to get his legs moving, etc I would think looking at the size of the legs, as though he might have odema (sp) and perhaps the cancer has gone to the kidneys. Please be assured I wouldn't do any treatments on anyone on a proffessional level for something i wasn't qualified in, but my partner is desperate and although I do not feel at ease doing something I am not qualified in, I want to try and help if possible for the swelling to go down. We have no idea when there will be professional available to do the massage.

Sorry to hear about your partner. Have you looked at YouTube? There is lots of massage videos on there. Also the person on Hp to talk to is Jabba the Hut, as it's her specialism.

Do you have a hospice local to you, ask your Dr for your OH to be referred, they may have a Lymph Nurse there ? But get on to the Macmillan and keep on at them, please don't try anything yourself.

We are in touch with the local hospice/mcmillian/gp and although we have been told something will be arranged its a case of wait....i have looked on the net for massagers in that area, but there's only a couple that do lympathic massage so I will see if any of them can do a home visit....my concern is because of their ins policies they might not want to treat my oh.....who knows
