Thanks for posting those pics, nearly got stung at Money Night (appropriate name?). Thank god for forums as I'd have ordered a drink without a second thought otherwise. As it was beer list had no prices, had to turn drink card over to see the prices. To make things worse, while beer was 800bt I think spirits were 1000bt.

As already mentioned, Roxy does the same (the regular prices of 250bt are bad enough, let alone the 'special menu' 800bt price you get from the touts). Also there's a gogo at the end of is it Soi Gonzo (one of the sois near hollywood). No tout followed me in, and I asked the waitress why the prices were so high. She said because we have special show lol, as if that differentiates it from the other gogo's.



I don't think they're going to beat on you for laughing at the prices, doesn't seem like a loss of face situation as they know they're taking the piss. I didn't raise my voice or show any physical aggression, but at money night I let them know what I thought when a discount was offered, something along the lines of no these prices are bullshit as I got up to leave, perhaps to the horror of my mate who was trying to be more diplomatic.

Its my experience after 4 years living here, that a poker face is the best face, and nothing can be gained by risking having your laugh misinterpreted as a mocking laugh, which it actually is.
But there is an update on the OP.
On Saturday I bumped into an old BM , who had interests in the failed Go Go that was once above, on the 3rd floor and now lives in Cambodia.
He said that his ex now worked at Season+ and the waiting staff now had a good scam going on the owners.
This is because the second beer you order, if you are silly enough to hang around, is 'normal' prices' ( 150 baht IIRC) .
So the staff tell the cashier, who cant see the crowd, and cant keep up with the pace even if she could, that the 'first order customer' , billed at 900, is actually a 'second order customer' and gets a bin of 150 to present to the first order customer, but actually presents a bill from a secret pile in her apron that says 900 or 500 ( her proffered discount price). Then she pockets herself 750 baht or 350 baht , on one drink!!
He said they pick there marks, usually the lone or paired 'first order' customer, but still make a pile.

It kinda makes me feel good to learn that the Con Men are being conned...

I dont understand these people sometimes.. If it is the waitresses then i feel sorry for the owners if not then do they honestly expect return customers? if not then are they hoping for hundreds of thousands of 1 off customers to fill the till for them....
Ridiculous if you ask me.... Like you said Deano.. It'll be a different story for them come low season
