New night club in Patong

Hi all! I'm opening on December 10th a new night club in Patong " Club Pirate ". No live bands, with International DJ's. Specials on alcohool + prizes to win all night long. Best you have done your homework regarding International DJs - work permits etc.:aao:

The reason I ask is that I was informed yesterday that the newly opened "Rock City" in Patong has had its international AC/DC tribute band barred from playing and now the police won't let them play music at all.The whole thing is a mess.:complain:

That is so typical, but I guess Rock City should have done it the right way to start with.

Yeah they didnt get work permits of the cover band now the pace is empty and has my vote for most likely to fail of anywhere in town.. They obviously spent a packet geting it set up and lighting etc and now its 140 baht a hienken !!! Plus no band !!

They have a 'VIP' section upstairs for invite only or drinks + 20 (??) % to be a VIP.. Sad IMHO..

Shame as its a nice setup now..

Patong could do with a decent dance club where we can 'Ave' it!'

I think its a case of if we 'ave it' the MiB will come along and urine test for it...

I can see so many hurdles for a real house / Dance club on Phuket.. Would love a place like Samuis Club Gecko or Mint bar beach nights where the party kicks off late afternoon and good DJ's rock the place all evening and night.. Lots of happy smily people (Brandon Block lives on Samui now I hear)..

Pretty sure location is the old Lucky A-GoGo at the end of Soi Sea Dragon - will be incredibly impressed if you manage to get all your fit out done in time (5 days for Thai/Burmese builders?!!!) - but hope works out ok for you. Hav'nt met you yet, but the Mrs knows your Mrs - and look forward to checking the place out soon.

Wonder what the rents like on Rock City, gotta be astronomical - Pretty poor business planning to not bother with the work permits/not pay off the right guys.

What is the problem with having a good techno, trand, house club in LOS. I don't get it. Why is it so difficult aside from making sure you pay the right people off?
