Nightlife in Kata beach

The new Night Bazar is very nice made. I was there with my friends in November. There are some bars on the small roads on the right and left side of the Night Bazar Area too.

Sure you should know before, where you will stay in Kata. Is there no hint about the name of the hotel you are staying ? When you look at the map Kata beach is dominated by the Club Med. There are two townships in the north of Club Med and in the south of Club Med. Behind the club med on the road there is a long loooong wall along the road, looks a bit lika prison. And on the other side of the road there are many resorts. So when you booked a good priced resort with no direct beach access, it is possibly located behind this wall.

Now i will the two townships k-north and k-south. To go from k-north to k-south you will walk about 10 minutes behind the wall, or on the beach.

All the bars are at the south end of k-north, just at the beginning of the wall. there are many restaurants, atms etc on this side too. Near the bars there are some massage salons, where you can have a full massage for 200 baht. You can ask for more, if you want pay more (chuck leow). You can walk up the hill, then you are in karon. There are some restaurants with beach view in karon, but not in k-north. My preferred places to stay there are the Diamond Coteforum.xxxe in the center and the Aspasia on top of the hill. Both are guestfriendly, when you show your respect.

k-south is dominated by some big hotels like Kata Beach Resort and Mom Tris Boathouse. It has a very nice and affordable eating place on the beach named Kata Mama. It is the surfers paradise in summer. From k-south you can go up the hill to KataNoi beach, one of the finest beaches of Phuket. None of the hotels are guestfriendly.

As you write, you booked a double room together with your friend. So it will be impossible to take anybody to your room without paying joiner fee, i guess. The joiner fees of tourist hotels are exorbitant, 1000 baht and up. So the best thing to do is to rent another room for the night, or the complete 9 days.

When you are not sure, if you want a girl every night, you can ask the girl at the bar, where you can get a room for 500 baht in the back road. Another possibilty is to get a last minute room on Last minute Hotel Bookings in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore & Bali for two guests. You can book two days ahead up to 2 weeks. This is to prefer, when you find a girl, you want to move together and stay with for one week.

Nightlife, drinks are cheaper, bf lower, lt cheaper
Indeed there are hotels more expensive then Nanai road, but I was comparing similar hotels as I can point you out the 400-800 baht aircon rooms in Kata as well. So compare the average 4 star beach hotel with average 4 star beach hotel and Kata/Karon is generally cheaper. Restaurants are similar (both cheap and more expensive available)

But go out every night drinking and bring a girl home and you probably be cheaper out, but then you go from peanuts to more peanuts

I think you will have to be very lucky to find a Tuk Tuk for 200 bath, that's what they charge from Bangla to Phuket Palace (right next to Simon Cabaret)
When I first started coming to Patong 15 years ago it cost 10 bath, but last year I was quoted up to 300 bath for the same ride, I walked home

My information is about a year old and come to think of it, I paid 200 just once the other rides were 250.

ive just got back from kata yesterday. i stayed at kata lucky villa, a couple of minutes walk from the beach. kata night life was good with loads of bars but i went to patong for three nights and each time it cost me 350 baht to get there. tuk tuk drivers always asked for 500 or 400 bahts but always manged to get them down a bit.

If you go to the Tuk-tuk stand at the part of the road that goes to the beach at Kata center, you will see that the official price is now 300 bath. It is displayed there.
I had drivers asking 500 bath, but as there are many in that area, I always manage to get one foir that price.
