If people want to give them 3K "Because I'm on holiday" fine, happy days!!!

I wonder if this is how the property developers work! Ask over the odds for a badly built house and people think "Sod it, I'm on holiday, how much is it again?" and hand over the money!

Rochdale gets a bit of a bashing on here so i'm just going to stick up for it and say it's pies at the footy club were (maybe still are, only ever went to a game against Bury) regarded in a survey many moons ago as some of the best in the land. So it's not all bad!

I don't have that much experince but my impression is that LT has been nearer 2000 than 1000 for a while in Patong. But perhaps expats and tourists experience different prices.

I thought Patong/Phuket was supposed to be more expensive than Bkk and Pattaya....I was paying 3-4 k LT regardless if good or not...what a fool I am......so its 2k in Patong then ?? what about Singha and bottle of JD with mixers in the go go's ??

Yes you over paid like we all do
But you should be fine paying 1500 LT in Patong, April will be the start of low season. But as some people say, it's their money they will spend it how they want. But it will be ok to leave 1500 under her phone in morning out in sunny old Patong. If you are going in April, hope to see you down MTB for a few beers or 10 :

I met the Aussie guy who was 'Mr Volvo' in Thailand at a time when their sales were lower. His answer- put the price up so the Thais could brag to their mates how much they had spent on their new car and get increased 'face'. The result- sales volumes increased. It's a completely different way of looking at things.

If you go to NEP(Nana) to a gogo, pick out the girl you fancy(the hot one), then she will want 3 or 4K. If you take a lesser girl, then less, and you may have to negotiate on that, as I'm sure she would rather be getting what her better looking friends do get. In Soi Cowboy, if you buy her a drink, and get on OK with her, she might want 3K, but you should be able to get her down to 2K, unless she knows she can get more, or if she doesn't like you.

If you go to one of the FL bars, like Soi 7 Biergarten, it is pretty standard for most of the girls, 1K ST, and 2K LT. But even there, some of the really hot young cute ones will hold out for more(1500 or 2K ST, 3K LT).... and get it.

i was there at the same time and didn't hear of to many bg's going for less than 3000bt lt, what bar where you drinking in, i know it was fairly quiet but 1000bt sounds very low. if they were any good it sounds like you got a bargain.

I was there in april 08, and never heard higher than 2000 from a BG. Granted I only asked the first time, and then subsequently just left 2000 for whoever I was with. 3000 would be out of the question. Including LD's, the BF and a few drinks somewhere else that would eventually become pretty expensive.

God I hope that's not true. Otherwise it's :tuxout: and on to Cambodia and Africa

I have to say a room temperature IPA for 50bt would be heaven to me. I paid 250bt for a kilkenny last week and not as nice. Just don't want to go back to UK for it!
