I had to stay a night in Riga and I wanted some action. However, my stay was only one night and I should have an early morning flight next day. Because of this, I wanted a women to my room.
I tried found a large number of advertisements, but almost none were working. Those which didn't work, said they dont do escort to hotels, in spite of what was writtten in their ads.
I had success with one girl, Olga. She said she should arrive at 22:00, we agreed the price and I was ready when she was supposed to arrive. She never arrive. Very dissapointing!
It was not possible to get a woman to my room this night. Well, I really needed some action, finally I succeded to get contact with Roxana. She accepted to meet me in her appartment and by her pictures she looked hot.
When I arrived her appartment, she was obvious drunk or had a serious hangover. And she was more skinny than the pictures told me.
Anyway, she was able to give good service, bit I lost some of my enthusiasm.

I will never even think of monger in Riga again!

Monger007 is spot on. My two trips to Riga were extremely dull and uneventful. Do not go there expecting action...it ain't gonna happen believe me, unless you want to spend hundreds of lats on an average escort.

The best action I got was in a pole dancing club called Flames. I went there in 2005 and spent some time talking to a Russian newbie who was real sweet and shy. Went back last year and she had left 6 months previous. I told her in 2005 that she would last 5 weeks in this industry 'cos she was just too nice. I wasn't far off. Anyway, last year I was in Flames and took an average looking Latvian girl into the private room for a private dance. Needless to say I gave her some tongue action down under. I was surprised since I figured the rules were being broken. My feeling was that she knew she was out of line and stopped it going any further. The words 'Drink for girl?', from the matre de will forever be ringing in my ears...I heard it enough. LOL

I also went to a pole dancing place called Labi. Inexpensive. Below average girls and a bit too skinny. No touching either. Waste of time.

What can i say about Riga? Well, after 3 nights I'm not left with much more than a bad taste in my mouth and a hole in my wallet the size of the Mariana Trench!?!?

It felt like a corrupt Amsterdam, minus the stoneheads. I got the impression the locals see the tourists as nothing more than targets to take advantage of and squeeze as much cash out of as possible - be it in bars, clubs or taxi's.

I didn't meet a single group of tourists who hadn't been duped, beaten up or both.
Granted, 90% of tourists in Riga are ignorant, ugly, desperate, wanky idiots from the UK and Italy, with no respect and no idea of where they are, solely intent on whoreing whilst hammered and acting as stupid as possible (God Bless Ryanair), so i can understand why the locals don't think much of the tourists...but a bit dissapointed we all get painted with the same brush?

This is my trip report about Riga.

I went to Riga last year and I can honestly say I was VERY DISAPPOINTED.

There are SO MANY beautiful girls in Riga, but now that they are in the EU and NATO, the entire concept of "free sex" and almost "paid sex" does not exist there anymore. Unless you can live there for 3-6 months, don't bother even trying for free sex. It is slow torture there as you see so many hot girls, but can't do anything with them. This is a summary of how the mission unfolded:

I arrived there and was driven to my apartment. The cost of the 15 minutes taxi ride was 25 Euros. A complete rip off but at least I got there safe as it was late at night. All taxis in Riga are a complete rip off. Do not use them. Just walk. Riga is not a large place.

I quickly set up base in the apartment and then tried to call some of the massage, escort numbers in my "Riga This Night" guide in the apartment. The problem was that the telephone in the apartment only allowed for me to call select numbers (land line only). But ONE number worked for the escort site. So I called it to get a does of what Latvia had to offer. So, they told me they will send some girls over and I could pick. I waited outside and then three Russian girls walked by and said that I could pick which one. All were in the 4-6 range and not very hot. But the one brown haired Russian girl was ok and I picked her. We went up to the apartment and she said it was 60 lats ($120.00) for the hour. This is much money to pay for average quality. The sex was ok though. It entailed CBJ/FS. We did it twice in the hour and it was good, but not great. I used the service a few more times as well. It got worse each time. Waste of time and money. You can find super model quality escorts for ($900 to $500) in the book, but why would you pay that money for that!!! Just use your bloody hand!!!

NOTE: There is also a big difference between RUSSIANS in Latvia and LATVIANS. The Latvians are indifferent to foreign people going to Riga, but the Russians do not like foreigners at all. They especially dislike people from the U.S. and UK. Use caution in Russian areas.

THE STRIP CLUBS IN RIGA ARE TRAPS. DO NOT GO THERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!!! I LOST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS THERE FOR NOTHING!!!!!!

Next, I bought a phone card. I called all the numbers from www.ladylux.lv website and NONE worked. I think that website is a dead link. Again, another wasted effort.

Met some girls from MySpace in Riga. Went out with them and bought them drinks/dinner. Then they went home. Free drinks and dinner for them. That's nice........I could have done that back home.

Met some UK guys, Scotish guys, and a Norwegian. All got ripped off at the strip bars and few if any got any action from the escorts. The UK guys were especially banged up. I often found them drunk in the Irish Pub. One guy was so messed up that I found him with the door open to the shitter, passed out, pants down to his ankles!!! Funny as shit!!!!

But this shows that the party in Riga is OVER. No idea why guys go there. I cancelled my trip to Ukraine to go to Riga and now think I made a mistake. If you like LOOKING at pretty girls, drinking beer, and walking around looking at old stuff, Riga is great. But for a hard core monger, go to Thailand or Costa Rica.

Many discos are full of hookers...you should have no trouble finding them...
I never saw any street walkers...go next door to Tallinn Estonia for that...but the quality in Riga is much better! Good luck

I am sorry to hear about your experience. I have to say that I was in Riga in the good old days way back in 2001 2002. It was such a completely different place to what you speak about. it was then possible to take a lady for 15 lats for the night and a real beauty.
