Tiger Disco staff beat up a customer

I have been in the Tiger Disco, Patong last night at Song Karn. Its nice. But i watch an interesting story about violance in Thailand:

They have this tiny paper vouchers for the beer. A German customer order his second beer, but the voucher was wet, everything is wet here now. The stuff at the beer fridge does not accept this wet voucher, cause "he cant pin it on the pin with the others and have problem to count it later", huge Problem!!! The customer was not happy about this and told this to this guy.

Than he go away, angry, of cause. The stuff follow him and hit him down with a very fast thai boxing style kick, jump on him and hit him again and again until two of the disco security and some guys help the custromer. The manager say sorry sorry sorry.

I talk to the customer later in the disco, so it was not his fault, i think. They dont send him out, he wasn't drunken.

I think its interesting that not drunken customers make problems, the stuff beaten up customers in this Tiger Disco.

Little bit dangerous at this disco. Take care. Retired thai boxers are not the right stuff for discos.

I think the people in phuket are more agressive now compares to 8 years before, when i felt very good and safe here.

I, like many of this board have been in Tiger many times and never had a problem.

I think there is more to this story than what you have told, I personally do not believe that a member of staff would follow and attack a customer simply because the customer was 'angry at the situation'

My guess is this german guy said something insulting to the member of staff, pure speculation on my part of course ...but I bet I'm not far off

im in tiger disco 5-6 nights a week and have never had any problems with the staff. actually 2 nights ago a crazy TG tried to hit me with a bottle several times and bit my arm and threw a bottle straight at me and the bouncers apologized to me and threw her out.

Have seen it more than once that a customer has been attacted by a stuff of a disco who has already been pissed off that day, and the customer just gave him a go with a little nothing. So everything is possible and wouldnt bet anything pro or contra

Which disco or disco's are talking about ?
I take is you mean 'staff' and not 'stuff' and are making the same spelling mistake as your fellow german ?

I have been in many thai discos, bangkok, pattaya, chaing mai and patong and have never seen a single fight. I realise that I may be lucky not to see any trouble but generally I don't get the impression from anyone else on these forums frpm other bm's that thai discos are frought with problems of violence from the staff.

And yet you and your german comrade seem to be implying there is some kind of attitude problem towards the customers from disco staff who have possibly had a bad day as you put it...how would you possibly know that they had a bad day..did they tell you so ?

I think that also. To get angry, speak loud with thais is extreme rude and there are farangs forget this sometimes.....

And if i would see he is getting angry i just would go away. F*ck the 100 bath. Not worth to get in trouble in LOS for 2 euro.

Sorry mate i shouldnt post anything when i am tiered in the morning. worked in the night.First i meant staff and not stuff, lol. and second i didnt mean any disco in LOS, but have seen it many times in germany that things like this happens. Its just the opposite that i was realy suprised how its easy going in thailand disco and the people are making a party without any trouble even being very drunk. It even was such impressing me that i mentioned it to all my friends as an highlight experience in LOS.But thats what can happen to you in germany in a disco or a bar. sorry again that i didnt wrote i mean german discos, but look at the time i posted and it makes it clear i was half sleeping,lol.

Also i didnt realize that the guy who started the thread was also a german and that it was his first post anyway. me thinks the guy he spoke with was himself as diz realized.seems like diz had more csleep than me, well done.now i am smelling a rat, as possibly it was his trial of an revenge to tiger disco me thinks.:bangin: i try to open my eyes next time but working a lot at the moment its hard.:mad2:

This isn't Lloret de Mar. In Thailand if you act like a twat then you get treated like one. Sometimes with a big stick. If you behave... then life is great. Such is life.

Incidentally I have seen staff at Tiger Disco reacting quite aggressively to critique, especially if you order your drinks upstairs where there seems to be little supervision. I saw this myself on days of considerate stress, namely Christmas or New Year, and I gues Songkran falls into this category.

That bar staff would just go and kick down a customer is however unheard of and I would venture that there was more to the incident then we were told; rest assured, if the customer (who needed to be so much in the right over THB 100) was not in some way guilty himself, he would not have let it go being injured with a lame "sorry sorry sorry" from the manager...

I know -- being German myself -- that we will go if necessary over dead bodies just to get our perceived rights; cooled down A LOT though in my years here in Thailand...

I think its fair to say that its a German national trait to be fault intolerant (that was PC wasnt it )..

I remember chatting to a Dutch guy I knew here when I was still green and he had been around a long time.. He was telling me how very often Germans he knew took a long time to get to the mai pen rai seforum.xxxe of relaxing and not blowing up when things like meals served incorrectly or times and appointments not met etc.. I can see how a punctual prussian mindset (that I personally admire about Germany) could be one that has a hard time adjusting in general.

Of course people are people and sweeping generalizations are never fair on a person by person basis.. I do think that it is fair to have some belief in national traits as I have seen it myself in the cultures reflected in the people.

Thats right Hansl, but me being half German -Italian, me thinks i just leave half the killings behind me, or maybe twice as being a thickhead like a German and having the exploding temperament of an italian :embrassed

But at my last trip it was my Thai friend exploding and had a discussion with the hotel staff, because they didn´t helped his wife open the door when back from shopping packed like a horse with all the bags from shopping and additional being pregnant. So he thought to be bad treated because he is a thai in a high class farang managed hotel

Punctuality was the thing that kept me exploding constantly, until I finally got worn down by the Thais.
It's for the better I hope, even though I would not ever want to go back to Europe and try myself in a high-energy business environment, re-adjusting back will be so much more painful...

I was thinking along the same as LIL too but didn't want to say it in case anyone thought I was take a 'pop' at the german people.

That good old german efficiency and it's something I admire too about your race, you make damn good beer too

But I must admit that I have seen plenty of aggression in certain situations similar to what LIL mentioned, restaruants + impatience being the classic example.
I was also shocked on my first visit to los as both hotels I stayed in had some germans that were not satisfied with something or other and were banging their fists on the reception counter and shouting a lot, this happened in 2 hotels, bangkok and patong and is something I'm not so used to seeing.

The poor staff were cowering and I was too But one thing I often hear from people around me is this ..'you want a good hotel' ?
'Look where the germans are staying'

What Morros says is true.

In Tiger there are a lot of twats who are quite drunk and hold a girl for ten minutes and then another girl etc. If I was one of this girls I would also go angry. Remember they are in there for the bucks.

If you treat people with respect they should also treat you nice ... if they even don't in this case ==> walk away.

I also never had a problem with the staff in Tiger. But when I was in Tiger last time feb-march 2006. I also noticed almost one fight every single night. Did not really know why or who was involved, but most of the times it's on the space right in front of the dj, while I m most of the times sitting at the tables in front of the main bar in Tiger.

I guess sometimes it's getting to crowdy, to many drinks and the amount of stunners is to small.

Having been to Phuket 6 times and will be there again for a few weeks in May! i have never seen any Agro anywere in Thailand!

Quiet surprising when you consider the amount of tetosterone and alcohol flowing around the place

I think if you go to Thailand with the mind set of having a good time and respecting that you are in another country and respect the Culture, you shouldn't have a problem!!

If your the type that gets agro after a few drinks you should stay at Home......:bangin: no:
