I was down in Patong a couple of months ago and cruised around the bars and there were a lot of very attractive women around.

This week it has been the complete opposite. I guess a lot of the successful girls = attractive girls - went upcountry for Songkran. But oh my goodness, things do seem rough in Bangla at the moment.

Or maybe it is just me and I need a new set of glasses?

Yep, the Mrs. knows I am here and will be spending some time on Bangla Road, though my pursuit will not lead me to do anything more than chat.

I imagine that most bar areas nationwide ar suffering and the pretty girls, those with the most money - and those who could afford it, took the opportunity to spend Songkran at home with their families. I am sure that over the next week or so, most wil gravitate back to the bars.

Thanks Stick for starting this thread.I took some mates out a few nights ago(thier first time in Patong)and boy did they give me some sh-t about the lack of attractive girls.I told them it was because of Songkran,but I don't think the believed me.Now I can show them this thread and they just might.

I remember reading through your guide while preparing for my first trip to LOS back in 2001 and o-boy was that helpful. If this is a thread from the real Stickman welcome to the board.............if not please change your name as it will be too confusing and it is slightly dishonest to use the name here..........there is only one stickman!

I didn't find the quality of the gals too different (than Xmas/NY) over Songkran....still lots of stunners to be found tho' less likely in the bars and more likely to be FL TG's on holidays in the nightclubs which were packed to the rafters.........

Phuket is not pattaya or BKK...........the ratio and quality of the gals is not in the same league ..........this is not to say that you can't have a ball here..........for an overall holiday it is still by far the best destination.......IMHO
