I've seen it busier in early November Dupes! Then again, I didn't head over to Patong too much and loitered around Surin and Bang Tao by way of a change! All bars moan about numbers of customers and would love the place to be rocking to the rafters everynight and apart from two bars I went to on Halloween it definately wasn't the case.

Chatting with a nice stewardess on the Bangkok Air flight to Phuket and she mentioned that their flights to Chiang Mai and Cambodia had picked up and less passengers for them on the Phuket link.

It doesn't bother me too much not having to rely on numbers of people through or own a business and I've said it before, less is better for me. Never been a high season person and much prefer my time there in low season.

My place is booked for the next three months though! 555555 It's only pocket money and covers my maintenance fees, a couple of goodish nights out and a few LT's when I am there. 55555

Recently I've found the opposite to be true, there are a lot of visitors arriving at present. I judge this on regular airport visits, 4 planes all arriving at the same time on a regular basis, all full to the brim, difficulties getting flights down from Bangkok as all planes full. Whilst I sit and twiddle my thumbs waiting for client to come through I can really see the difference in numbers of people passing by, really see the planes are now chocka. Everything now open for high season and all the beach is full, beach bars and restaurants slowly filling up.Lot of Asian visitors at present from Malaysia, Singers etc, but I suppose a lot of them dissapear into the isalnd at places such as Laguna etc and are not so noticeable in Patong, accept as gawking bus loaders!!!

Over the entire year numbers will be well down but assuming the red shirts do not do anything stupid, we could be in for a not bad high season.

But this is what I was saying recently and very visible when Gee and Wylos were out (couple of weeks back I admit) that the streets were bustling, there were 100's of bodies wandering around..

But go into the bars and they were empty, we sat there one night at peak time on a weekend and while MTB was busy, next door one side had no one and next door the other only maybe 2.. Gogo's (except suzys) literally empty and under tiger same.

Theres lots of people.. But not spending anything like the same kind of money IMO.

For those who rely on the numbers I hope it is an OK high season, they probably need it!

Like I said with bar numbers in Kamalala, on most nights, apart from a couple of bars, we would double the customer numbers when six or seven of us walked in or even be the only customers. Which is a shame.

The less twatlers bombing through Kamalalala on hired scooters whilst half cut the better for me! If I was a scooter hirererer I'd be a happy larry.

Half full flight coming in and about 50 or so going back out!

Bookings down at the Club apart from the ground floor units which is good for me having the oldies in there. Some places tried to bump up their prices for High season and haven't got the bookings. I kept mine at the same price as last year and someone has taken it for 3 months.

I've personally seen busier Novembers and I am sure the usual Christmas and NY crew will be over as usual to bump the numbers up.

Maybe not spending it in the same kind of places as you or I go? maybe the perceneforum.xxxe of mongers versus couples holidaying is swinging to favour couples?, I didn't go in the bars much when I came here on holiday with my girlfriend, or if I did it was the Molly Malones type bars not the sois.

Always hard to make a call on this from one visit or a few nights but only in one area. We see different levels in Kamala than say Patong, but hard to say whether Laguna is brimming as not been up there for awhile. Chalong was busy last friday night, well busy to me as I've not been down there for a few beers for 6 months or so.

My observance has been at the airport, really picked up since Nov 1st, but as I say a larger than normal perceneforum.xxxe of asian passengers?
