Procuring a prostitute in the UK is a very serious offence. If they decide that the girl has been `trafficked` then its big jail time. Due to its illegality it is a very seedy scene, pimps, violence, many girls with drug and mental health problems, aids etc. While the business in LOS has some of these difficulties too, it is qualitatively far better for girl and monger, add in climate, food etc then you have an attractive package facing our inverness lad shivering in his cold dark winter. I have never been asked for money by a tg, but I have always given it. Even if she does a lame job i give her something as I believe she deserves to be compensated for the job that she does. And lets not forget, it is her job. Even though she may be too shy to ask for money, she always expects it. The girls are same same low or highseason. Hotels are cheaper in lowseason and maybe you can get discount on trips to Phi-Phi and snorkeling trips. But as we all know when there is not many customers to price sometimes go up. It is thai economy.

Usually a BG/FL wanting to stay with you stems from ulterior motives 999 times out of 1000. I'm all for treating them respectfully and having a great time, but thinking they are doing anything other than earning money is far-fetched...

from what i'm reading, is it right to assume that nearly every girl in Hollywood, for example, is free-lancing??? ...is it possible that there might be some non-h00kers who are just out on a night out??

I bet there must be loads of lads in thailand for the first time, who don't realise what the rules of engagement are with the girls in the clubs. I was one of them. so if the girls don't ask for money and the lads don't know they should be offering ......thats quite a gamble for the girl i would have thought.

I have spent a grand total of 4 weeks in thailand over 2 occasions, so my comments are certainly not from an experienced viewpoint. I appreciate all feedback and interested to hear everyone's stories .....but Mr Jaybee, do the comments really need to be so extreme? I am not the oracle on all things thailand ...maybe you are, or maybe you think you are ...but i certainly am not embarrassed by my post.

about 90% of the gals in Hollywood are there for the cash hook up with a guy....most would be expecting between 1k and 2k for their troubles and of course will choose a younger more hansum man over a fat old codger almost all of the time BUT they still do expect payment no matter what you look like.....That's Hollywood..it attracts the better more sophisticated FLs in town..as I said in an earlier post...offer them the money...iI am sure they won't turn it down...but if they do you really are a "hansum man''or they want the game to go on longer.....

The other 10% will not be interested in you....as you rightly point out they are there for a night out....with their Thai friends

Personally I think you can excuse younger guys who come here first time and haven’t done much research for not paying girls that they have picked up in Hollywood. I think that what everyone says is true that even if the girl doesn’t specifically ask for money then it is difficult if it is your first time to know what the protocol is.

However after finding what the deal is and purposefully not playing along I think that is a bit out of order. All situations are different though. I have had a few ‘freebies’ in my time. The first one was my first ever girl who ended up staying with me for a few months. It was low season though and I now assume that the combination of her salary/LDs/possible sponsorship made it possible for her to stay with me for a few months. I’m still really good mates with her and she is here in England now and tells me that she used to pretend to her friends at the bar that i was paying her because they wouldn’t believe it, maybe a face thing.

Another freebie, from my last trip, I decided from the off that I really liked her and I was staying for a while so i didn’t want to pay her for a one night stand and tried to make something more of it. In the end she went with the guy who gave her money so i think that says it all.
