Armand, you're participation in this thread has been a great insight. So thanks for having the balls to be straight up with us.

I've had a Thai partner for some time now and have found, among other things, her naivete about the world at large amazing. One of the ways this manifests itself is in the way that they will say things that we find un-acceptable.

As with many things in life, you either find a way of dealing with a situation or you make yourself miserable by complaining about it and trying to change people. For what it's worth, I think your approach is spot on.

One of the biggest causes of racism is ignorance and Frodes post explains why a young girl from Issan could come across as being racist.

I find cultural differences very interesting and at times amusing. I always make allowances and try not to take offence if someone from a different part of the world says something inappropriate. If there was more give and take between different cultures/religion/countries the world would be a better place.

My point is that there sems to be different criteria to your accusations of racism.Is it that one is a Thai and the other a Westerner? Or, pehaps that being told we smell bad is worse than having a big D1ck?
One night,a few years ago, I was having a quiet beer at a bar on Bangla when a rather large black american man sat down beside me bemoaning the fact that he couldn't get a girl to even talk to him, let alone go back to the hotel. After this had happened in a few bars, he asked the mamasan what was going on. She told him that most of the girls were afraid that his big d1ck would split them in half!!! He was so frustrated that he was nearly ready to stand on the bar and shout out to the whole soi "I only have a small d1ck!!!!"
To me, the myth about bad odour or big d1cks have the same effect on the person at the recieving end, so why does one person's racism seem to be more acceptable than another's??

The nature of my work/life makes it difficult for me to make specific plans in advance. But I can almost say for sure that it won't be before December that I go to LOS, and quite possibly not til New Year's.

I really would like to go in the summer to check out the whole low season scene some day. Having heard about how picking up stunners at the discos in like "shooting fish in a barrel" then. And some day, I am sure that I will. But for the time being, I limit my vacation time to the winter, which is good, because that is when it is raining here in the Bay Area. Last winter I missed all but the last two weeks of rain here, since I didn't return til April.

I don't know if I could ever do the quick two or three week trip like most BMs do, because I get awful jet lag, and it takes me 2 weeks to get over it, coming or going!:what:
